A lot of people are agitated about not being able to get their best WR involved due to man coverage. You have to be able to utilize formation subs to be able to do this. Having a 4 or 3 wide set and putting your best WR in the slot is an awesome way to get your WR involved. If you play a guy who runs a base 3-4 against your 3 and 4 wide sets, his LB or safety deserves to be beat on a crossing route or on an underneath throw for a big gain.

yea, your right on this. moving your star wr to slot or even 3rd on the depth chart creates HUGE mis-matches on the field.
