Has anybody seen people do a lot of this? It seems to be too good this year where the slot guy will almost always burn the DB assigned to him. idk if it's just me, but this seems to be the case for schemes using this formation.

Yeah, you have to have a great DB lined up on the slot guy. You cant run a base set vs this or else you get burned.
